52 types of poorly behaved and difficult people
Hi, I’m Mark McPherson. I’ve been helping individuals and teams handle poorly behaved and difficult people for a long time. And I’ve documented 52 types of them – and quite a few sub-types as well.
Yes, that’s right. 52. It’s a lot, but it’s just the reality. I’m not sure why some people tell us there are only 8, 10 or some other low number. Anyway, every week for 52 weeks – starting Tuesday 22nd March 2016 (Australia) – I’ll post a blog about of one of the 52 types. I’ll write about one of the types I’ve recently been helping people deal with.
The Diehard
The very first one is about a delightful character I call The Diehard. In a nutshell, Diehards cling to the old ways of doing things. They don’t listen to new ideas or give them a fair go. And they often go the extra step of actively undermining them.
At best, they’re annoying and frustrating. But at worst, they’re very destructive. They can destroy morale and destroy productivity.
