Mark McPherson Consulting

For teachers, administration staff, students and parents

Outstanding communication skills and outstanding people skills

Mark has never forgotten his eight years 'in the classroom' and he fully understands the nature of schools and the broader educational environment. He knows that schools are complex places and knows the sorts of issues that confront staff. Both teaching and non-teaching staff have to deal with a broad range of people including students, each other, staff of the education department and similar organizations, parents, representatives of other organizations and businesses, and members of the general public. They interact with them by e-mail, on the phone and face-to-face and it's not always in the best environments or under the best of circumstances.

Of course, many of their interactions are happy affairs but unfortunately some are not.  Administration and support staff are a special case because they are very much on the front line and are usually the first point of contact that someone has with the school. They can cop people who are not just poor communicators but people who are rude, nasty and sarcastic.

Mark has produced variations of all his outstanding communication skills and outstanding people skills presentations and programs to suit the needs of for teachers, administration and support staff, staff of regional offices and staff of head office. He has also adapted them to meet the needs of students as well as parents. Mark has, for example, delivered presentations and programs in schools in Bowral, Blakehurst, Lurneah, Dubbo, Kempsey and Lithgow. He has presented to School Administration and Support Staff of the Western Region of NSW, at the Staff Information Expo in Coffs Harbour, and to the Primary Principals Conference held in Mudgee. Mark was recently engaged to deliver a series of presentations on the north coast of NSW.
